Calella
Calella de Palafrugell is an old fishing village in la Costa Brava. Before the 2000 it started to be known by Spanish people from other parts of Spain and Catalonia, and by tourists from Europe. People fell in love with the views and the weather. Nowadays it’s the most popular place in Catalonia to stay during holidays for families and friends.
This village is very rich with traditions and gastronomy, in the summer, there is the celebration of “Les Havaneres”, a Catalan type of music that started in 1898 when catalan people that had emigrated to Cuba returned to their homes. They took the musical traditions of Cuba.
Palamós
Palamós is a municipality on the Costa Brava, located next to Sant Antoni de Calonge. It is characterized by its excellent beaches and leisure opportunities. This town captivates its tourists through its fine sandy beaches, transparent water coves, the fishing port, and its medieval quarter. Many choose to visit some of these attractions with a boat trip or a walk along the coastal path or the promenade. Some of the most spectacular coves include Cala S’Alguer, Cala Margarida, or Cala de la Fosca.
Palamós also boasts some unique buildings such as the Hermitage of Bell-Hoc, the churches of Santa Eugènia de Vila-Romà, Santa Maria de Palamós, or the Chapel of Carme.
Furthermore, it has a rich gastronomy based on seafood products, not forgetting the typical product, the shrimp, recognized throughout Spain.
Sant antoni i torre valentina
Sant Antoni de Calonge is the maritime nucleus of the municipality of Calonge. It’s an idyllic place to enjoy tourism with family and friends thanks to the variety of offers of water activities, hiking routes, or activities related to the wine industry.
The seafront promenade of Sant Antoni de Calonge Beach
Sant Antoni Beach consists of 1.5 kilometers of fine sand and shallow waters. It can be easily reached by car, bus, or on foot through the surrounding promenade. It offers many services, such as restaurants, parking areas, showers, or lounge chair rentals.
Following the seafront promenade, you arrive at Torre Valentina where you can continue along the coastal path until you reach Platja d’Aro. The journey is easy, with some very well-conditioned sections and protected with railings and stairs. You can explore different coves with beautiful views, such as Cala Roques Planes.
Cala Roques Planes
It is one of the most curious coves on the Costa Brava, specifically in Torre Valentina. The images clearly show its peculiarity, as its name suggests, being formed by large elongated and flat rocks. This surprises bathers since they can lay their towels on the rocks themselves and not necessarily on the sand.
Llança
Llança is a coastal town in L’Alt Empordà, it’s an old fishing town and it’s not so much visited by tourists. This is the reason why we wanted to show this part of Catalonia, it’s a perfect destination to go with family and enjoy a calm holiday. It’s perfect too if you are a young group of friends because it’s easy to arrive in big cities where you can find different clubs and young people too.
Cadaques - Port Lligat
Cadaqués is a town in the northeast of Catalonia. You can enjoy different activities, from calm activities to active ones. For example you can just walk and visit the town, it’s like a big museum where you can find typical catalan decorations, traditional shops and restaurants.
The gastronomy of the area is very popular for the fresh fish and seafood. The menus have a lot of variety from rices to salads and typical traditional catalan food.
It’s one of the most visited places in Catalonia, not only for the incredible views and gastronomy but also for the story. One of the most important artists of the whole country was Salvador Dali, and he had a house in Port Lligat, a part of Cadaques. That made a lot of tourists become curious about the history of this little part of the catalan coast.
